Our fraternity and sorority members participate in many activities and programs throughout the year, some of which are hosted by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life itself. To follow along with what our organizations are up to, we encourage you to follow @缅北禁地greeks on Instagram!
Our individual organizations collectively do over a hundred programs and event a semester, focused on their philanthropies, important topics such as mental health awareness and social events to bring together the members of their organizations. Here are a few examples of programming that happens throughout the year run by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life specifically!
Meet the Greeks is a Greek-wide recruitment event where students at Ramapo will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with our Greek leaders from each of our fraternities and sororities. At this event, each organization has an information table where students can receive detailed information about each organization’s mission, values, philanthropy, etc and will be able to see select performances by several of our Greek organizations! This event is typically held in the second week of the Fall semester!
National Hazing Prevention week is a part of a national initiative held at numerous colleges and universities across the country. This week is dedicated to raising awareness about hazing, educating others about hazing, and promoting the prevention of hazing. Each year, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life holds numerous events and tabling opportunities for students to sign the pledge to end hazing here at Ramapo and across the country. This week is celebrated during the third week of September!
Greek Pillars Appreciation Week is a week-long appreciation week focused on showcasing a different pillar of Greek Life each day. Events and workshops including leadership programs, service opportunities and social events are part of what makes this week a great way for our Greek students to show the community the values that Greek Life was built upon here at Ramapo! This week is celebrated each Spring semester typically in April!
